Aalu Kofta Curry Recipe

Ingredients

  • 500 gm aalu (potatoes boiled & mashed)
  • 3 tbsp bread crumbs
  • 1/2 tsp laal mirch powder (red chili powder)
  • 1/2 tsp chaat masala
  • 1/2 tsp namak (salt)
  • 1-1/2 tbsp hara dhania (green coriander)

Ingredients for gravy

  • 2 tbsp tail (oil)
  • 1 bari piyaz (1 large onion cubes)
  • 2 jave lehsan (garlic cloves)
  • 1/2 inch piece adrak (ginger)
  • 2 tamatar (tomatoes cubes)
  • 4 tbsp tail (oil)
  • 1 tukra darcheeni (cinnamon stick)
  • 2 long (cloves)
  • 1-2 hari ilaichi (green cardamom)
  • 1/2 tsp zeera (cumin seeds)
  • 1/4 tsp haldi (turmeric)
  • 1 tsp laal mirch powder (red chili powder)
  • 1/2 tsp dhania powder (coriander powder)
  • 1 tsp namak (salt)
  • 1-1/2 cups pani (water)
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala powder 
  • 2 tsp kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves)
  • Cream for garnishing
  • Hara dhania (fresh coriander)

Directions

Koftay banane ke liye pehle aalu, breadcrumbs, laal mirch powder, chaat masala, namak or hara dhania mila ke achi tarah mix karke 15 mins ke liye chor den_

Ab is aamezay mese koftay banae or side pe rakh den_
Ab gravy ke liye pan main tail daalen_
Ab piyaz, adrak or lehsan daal ke piyaz naram hone tak pakaen or nikaal len_
Ab pan main tamatar daal ke 2-3 mins naram hone tak pakaen or nikaal len_
Phir blender main piyaz, tamatar, adrak lehsan ko achi tarah blend karke puree bana ke side pe rakh den_
Ab degchi main 4 tbsp oil daalen_
Or isme daarcheeni, long, hari ilaichi or zeera daal ke thora bhune_
Ab tamatar or piyaz ki puree shamil karden_
Phir isme haldi, laal mirch, dhania powder or namak daal ke achi tarah mix karen or tail alag hone tak pakaen_
Ab pani shamil karke 2-3 mins pakne den_
Ab garam masala or kasuri methi daal ke mix karen_
Ab kofto ko oil main golden brown hone tak deep fry karen_
Ab gravy ko dish main nikaal ke usme koftay rakhen_
Akhir main cream or hara dhania se garnish karke serve karen_:)
