Machli Ka Salan (Fish Curry) Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 cups dahi (yogurt)
  • 1-1/2 tbsp laal mirch (red chili powder)
  • 1/2 tsp haldi (turmeric)
  • 1-1/2 tbsp dhania powder (coriander powder)
  • 2 tbsp adrak lehsan paste (ginger garlic paste)
  • Hasb e zaeqa namak (salt to taste)
  • 2-3 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 kg fish (surmai)

Ingredients for gravy

  • 3/4 cups tail (oil)
  • 1/2 tsp methi dana (fenugreek seeds)
  • 1 tsp kalonji (nigella seeds)
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp sonf (fennel seeds)
  • 15-20 curry leaves
  • 3 Piyaz (onion finely chopped)
  • 1-2 cups pani (water)
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • Hara dhania (fresh coriander chopped for garnishing)

Directions

Marination ke liye bowl main dahi, laal mirch powder, haldi powder, dhania powder, adrak lehsan paste, namak or nimbu ka rass daal kar mix karen_

Machli shamil karen or achi tarah mi  karlen_
1-2 ghantay ke liye marinate karlen_

Gravy tayar karne ke liye pan main oil garam karen, meethi dana, kalonji, rai dana, sonf or curry pata daal kar ek min ke liye saute karlen_
Piyaz daal kar halki sunehri honay tak fry karlen_
Pani shamil karen, dhak kar darmiyani anch par 15-20 mins ke liye paka len_
Akhir main garam masala powder or hara dhania daal kar 2-3 mins ke liye dum par rakh den_
