Shaljam Ka Achar (Turnip Pickle) Recipe

Ingredients

  • Hasb e zarurat pani (water as required)
  • 1 kg shaljam (peeled & sliced turnip)
  • 1 tbsp adrak lehsan paste (ginger garlic paste)
  • 1/2 tbsp namak (salt)
  • 1 tbsp laal mirch (red chili crushed)
  • 1 inch piece adrak (ginger julienne)
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup sirka (vinegar)
  • 1/4 cup rai dana (mustard seeds)
  • 1 tbsp laal mirch (red chili powder)
  • 3-4 cups pani (water boil & bring it to room temperature)

Directions

Shaljam ko cheel kar thick or round slices main kaat len_
Pan main pani daal kar ubaal len_
Shaljam daal kar 3/4 th done honay tak paka len or chaan kar thanda karlen_
Shaljam main adrak lehsan paste, namak, laal mirch, adrak julienne, brown sugar, sirka, rai dana crushed, laal mirch powder or boil pani daal kar achi tarah mix karlen_
Lid laga kar dhak len or suraj ki roshni main 3-4 din ke liye rakh den_
Shaljam ka achar tayar hai ab isse serve karen_:)
